About Dr. James: James Earhart is a licensed clinical psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. He has worked with a wide variety of childhood issues in school, hospital, and clinic settings. James received his bachelor's degree from UCLA and then worked at the UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment (CART). James also studied under Dr. Ivar Lovaas (creator of the Lovaas Model of Applied Behavioral Analysis, or ABA, for children with autism). James was an independent evaluator for a study conducted by the Center for Disease Control on the relationship between vaccinations and autism. He began his graduate training at the University of Texas, Austin and received his doctorate from UCSB. During that time, he worked for the Koegel Autism Center and provided Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT). He received clinical training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for both internship and fellowship, where he specialized in interdisciplinary assessment and early intervention for children with autism, disruptive behaviors and trauma, medical conditions, and learning challenges. James was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern California and taught child and adolescent psychotherapy. He has extensive experience in working with children with autism, learning problems/ADHD, anxiety/depression, and complicated family issues, from infancy to the teenage years. He uses early intervention/prevention, relationship, cognitive/behavioral, neuropsychology, and systemic approaches to conceptualize and provide targeted treatment to children and their families.
